hazelHow did you end up in your job?

I applied for the position of receptionist at James Dun’s House over 5 years ago, after seeing the advert in the newspaper. Thankfully I got the job. I have worked my way up and am now supervisor to the fantastic front desk team.

What tips would you give to anyone who wants to work on Front Desk?

Customer service is the most important part of the job, so it’s important that you have good people skills. We also work in a large team of people, so anyone looking for a job on reception must be a able to work in a team. Also it helps if you are smiley and bubbly.

What are the best and worst parts of your job?

I love my job. My favourite aspects are being able to help my team grow their own careers and help them meet targets and motivate them. I also love the guest services, I really enjoy working with people everyday and ensuring every guest receives a fantastic service every time.

What do you like best about being involved in the hair industry?

I love the how dynamic the hair industry is, and the fact it is so creative. Working on the front desk is great as we see people come in with one hairstyle and leave with something completely different. i love being part of making people look and feel fantastic. It is really good fun!
