Good thing so many of the hair, makeup, and nail trends we saw on the spring 2015 runways are season-less. Get inspired by some of our favourites…
2015 is all about fuss free hair and having fun with your locks. Over styled hair is a definite no – instead it’s about embracing and enhancing your look.
The low pony
Low ponies were everywhere on the Spring runways. Whether they were crimped, tousled or wet look – one thing is for sure, however you wear your ponytail for Spring, wear it low at the nape of your neck – as it was done almost universally at the shows. We especially loved how the low ponytail got dressed up at Jason Wu, thanks to side partings and softly waved tails, turning this look into a chic red carpet style. We love Jessica Alba’s slick pony.
Braids are 1 trend that are not going anywhere. Plaits and braids have been making a comeback over the last couple of years and show no signs of slowing down. Whether it’s a fishtail plait, a braided bun or a French plait you’re wearing, then you’re bang on trend. For a lovely update to the basic braid, do a deep side parting, sweep your braid over one shoulder & flat iron the ends sleek, before pulling pieces loose around your face for a romantic finishing touch. Olivia Palmero’s bohemian tousled side braid, looks effortlessly glam.
Carefree, barely-there, loose waves were big on the Spring catwalks. Boho waves were prominent enough on the spring runways to be called a trend. You don’t have to wait for the warm days to rock the look now. Alexa Chung has long since been the queen of the boho wave- this being her signature look.
Black eyeliner never goes out of style, and was a must on the runways. So if you don’t already own it, get some now! Wear it up top for a retro cat-eye look that is clean and chic enough for daytime. For night time, try lining all the way around your eye with liner, for maximum drama. Sultry smoky eyes are super chic. We adore Natalie Portman’s smoky eyes, this is the perfect red carpet look.
